I'm a multi-award-winning author, educator and expert witness, I specialise in the assessment of mental capacity.
With over 25+ years as a registered Mental Health Nurse, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges and cognitive impairments. This extensive background has refined both my theoretical understanding and practical application in the field.
I was the first mental health nurse to have a CoP3 assessment accepted by the Court of Protection.
Since the introduction of the Mental Capacity Act (2005), I've been a thought leader and innovator in the field and conducted and guided over 4,000 mental capacity assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant case law.
My book, 'Grandpa on a Skateboard: 'The Practicalities of Assessing Mental Capacity', is widely regarded as essential reading in many UK universities and colleges and my proprietary assessment models have become industry benchmarks.
